Kyonan-machi (lat. 35, long. 13) is located in the south- western portion of Chiba Prefecture’s Boso Peninsula, facing the Tokyo Bay.  The town was created in 1959 (Showa 34) when the three villages of Katsuyama, Hota, and Sakuma were combined.  In Kyonan-machi, we enjoy a moderate and comfortable climate year-round.  The present population is approximately 9,780.  The total area of the town is 44.9 square kilometers.
